Even more delighted that our own Lewis Dennett, Ben Kirby and William Timms all took the field for Hampshire A against Sussex.
The Hampshire A team had a great attacking first half with Lewis at scrum half and Ben at flanker. Hampshire attacked well and were awarded a penalty, taking the score to 3-0. Then the Fordingbridge lads were involved in moving the ball out wide and a skillful pick up and pass by Ben Kirby led to the first try and the lead increased to 8-0. Will joined the squad at half time at scrum half and Lewis went to fly half. After a nail-biting 10 minutes camped on their own line, Hampshire went the offensive again and Ben Kirby, again out wide, went over for a great try. Solid defence to the final whistle meant that Hampshire kept a clean sheet and won the match 13-0.
A great sight to see - Ben Kirby scoring for Hampshire in front of his own home crowd. Thanks to everyone who supported, helped and organised the event - a real milestone for the club.
